CISTI 2017: ISCTE-IUL ACM Student Chapter participation

The ISCTE-IUL ACM Student Chapter participated in the CISTI 2017, the largest conference in Portuguese and Spanish in the field of Information Technology and Information Systems.

In fact, the student chapter had a stand in the conference place, where Joao Aparicio, Joao Sequeira, Andre Pereira and Antonio Teixeira represented the ACM Student chapter.

ACM student chapter members had a significant scientific participation.  In fact, Fernando Bento, Martinha Piteira, Joao Papricio, Catarina Santos, Sofia Aparicio and Hugo Araujo co-authored several papers presented at the conference. Fernando Bento, Martinha Piteira, Catariana Santos and Hugo Araujo presented papers at the conference.

Workshop Technologies for Healthcare

Last 14th of June, IEEE IMSPT chapter organized Workshop Technologies for Healthcare. The workshop had as main invited speaker Prof. Cristian Gyozo Haba from “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iaşi, Romania. Prof. Cristian Gyozo Haba presented his research about Embedded Systems for Ambient Assisted Living.

Our colleague Fernando Bento spoke about Information Systems and Internet of Things, presenting several cases.

CAPSI 2015 – 15ª Conferencia da APSI

In October ISCTE-IUL is the home of CAPSI 2015.

This year edition is organised by ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, with the collaboration of Universidade de Lisboa (through  ISEG – Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão),  IST – Instituto Superior Técnico  and Universidade Nova de Lisboa (through NOVA IMS – Nova Information Management School).

Call for Sponsors!

Until now our partnerships (btw thanks to all of them) provided great assistance by providing prizes to be raffled, beverage to be given, events visibility and propagation, speakers, raffle application and much much much more.

Fortunately we grown, we gained the respect from the community, our events have recurrent attendees, well known speakers promptly reply to our Call and, although we only have one year of existence, we organized over 20 events focused on computer science and systems information areas.

We want to go further,  and we need sponsors to help us reach that next step and maintain the events free of charge. We want to offer coffee breaks, go to other universities and organize this events (yes, we were invited by two, not one but two) to extend this event, and much much much much more.
